Ramallah - The Palestinian detainees Affairs Authority and the Prisoners Club stated that the Israeli occupation court in (Kedumim) has decided to open an investigation into the circumstances of the martyrdom of the Detained Abdul Rahman Al-Bahsh (23 years old) from Nablus in Majdo Prison, who passed away last night.

The detainees Affairs Authority and the Prisoners Club mentioned that the judge's decision came after a request submitted by the lawyer of the Prisoners Affairs Authority to immediately investigate the circumstances of his martyrdom. The court also approved the lawyer's request to allow a family-appointed doctor to participate in the autopsy.

As part of the preliminary discussions, another session has been scheduled for 16/1/2023 to continue deliberations on the case.

The Authority and the Club clarified that filing a request for an investigation is part of legal efforts to immediately investigate the circumstances of the martyrdom of detainees in the occupation's prisons after October 7th The latest was the martyr Abdul Rahman Al-Bahsh, the seventh prisoner to ascend in the occupation's prisons after October 7th and the third prisoner to ascend in Majdo Prison.

In this context, the Authority and the Club affirm that seeking an investigation into the circumstances of their martyrdom does not mean waiting for any justice from the occupation courts. Instead, it is part of finding any avenue to put an end to the torture and abuse operations that have escalated unprecedentedly against prisoners and detainees.

The Authority and the Club also emphasize that, as institutions monitoring prisoners' affairs, and in light of the increasing testimonies about the circumstances of their martyrdom, the occupation systematically assassinated them through torture, abuse operations, and continuous retaliatory measures until today. This includes medical crimes that escalated after October 7th, depriving them of treatment and neglecting their health.

It is worth noting that the occupation's media had previously revealed information indicating the martyrdom of other detainees from Gaza in the (Sdeh Teyman) camp in (Beersheba). The occupation, until today, refuses to disclose any information about them. Additionally, alongside this announcement, the occupation was admitted yesterday to execute one of the detainees from Gaza without revealing his identity. The fate of all Gaza detainees facing the crime of enforced disappearance remains undisclosed.
