🔴  50th Palestinian detainee martyred in occupation’s prisons

Ashraf Mohammad Fakhri Abed Abu Warda is the 50th identified Palestinian prisoner to have been killed in custody over the past 450 days of the genocide, since October 7, 2023. 

The 51-year-old father-of-four was a resident of Jabalia. He was arrested by occupation forces while fleeing from Jabalia to southern Gaza on November 20, 2023. 

His martyrdom comes just over a year after his arrest. He did not have any pre-existing health problems when he was arrested. The details surrounding how he was martyred are still unclear.

Abu Warda was being held at the Naqab prison until two days ago (27-12-24). Occupation authorities then transferred him to Soroka Hospital and his martyrdom was announced today through the Palestinian Civil Affairs. 

- Abu Warda is the 31st identified martyred detainee from Gaza. 
- He is the 287th detainee to be martyred in occupation prisons since 1967. 
- He is the 59th martyred detainee whose body is withheld by occupation authorities, including 48 people since the beginning of the genocide. 
Dozens of other detainees from Gaza have been killed and/or subject to enforced disappearances but occupation authorities have refused to provide any information on them.
