Ramallah, Palestine – At least 365 Palestinians have been arrested and detained by Israeli occupation forces from the cities of Jenin and Tulkarem in the northern occupied West Bank since the start of the latest aggression on January 21, 2025. This figure includes those who have been detained and remain in custody, as well as those later released.

The arrests targeted all segments of Palestinian society including children, women, young men, the injured, and the elderly. These arrests are an extension of Israel’s systematic decades-long policies which have only intensified since the start of the genocide.

In the Jenin governorate including the city and refugee camp over the past 35 days of Israel’s aggression, there have been at least 200 cases of arrest. In the Tulkarem governorate, as of today - the 29th day - at least 165 arrests have been conducted. These figures do not include the dozens of people who were subject to field interrogation and detained for hours.

The continuous and escalating mass arrests are accompanied by field executions, direct shootings or threats of murder, severe beatings, and field interrogations that have affected hundreds of people. Additionally, residents have been taken as hostages to pressure their relatives to turn themselves in, while homes have been turned into military outposts, and have been targeted, demolished, blown up, and some set on fire.

There has also been deliberate destruction of infrastructure. These actions come as part of Israel’s decades-long occupation, and as part of an all-out war against the Palestinian people since the genocide. Since October 2023, at least 14,500 Palestinians have been arrested from across the occupied West Bank. This is collective punishment; arrest operations are, and continue to be, one of the main systematic policies used by the occupation to undermine any form of resistance.
