🔴Israeli Occupation Forces Execute Young Palestinian Man in West Bank Village During Systematic Raids and Arrests

Ramallah, occupied Palestine – Israeli occupation forces executed the young Palestinian man, 37-year-old Abdelhalim Hammad from the town of Silwad, near Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank on Wednesday at dawn, after storming his home, brutally assaulting his family members, and causing widespread destruction inside the house, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said in a statement. His body continues to be withheld by the military. 

His brother, Mohammad Hammad, was killed by occupation forces in 2021, and his body remains withheld.

According to the family’s account, “occupation forces violently raided their home at night on Wednesday and began severely beating the martyr’s brother without stopping. When Abdelhalim attempted to defend his family and his brother, they shot him directly, detained his body, and arrested his brother and father, who were later released.” This took place as part of a wide-scale arrest campaign carried out by occupation forces in the West Bank, spanning at least 30 Palestinians. 

In a statement issued Wednesday, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that such executions are part of a long-standing historical policy that the occupation has practiced for decades. This policy has reached its peak amid the genocide in occupied Gaza, alongside field executions in the West Bank that had already been escalating prior to that. Field executions have become one of the most prominent policies against Palestinians. 

The execution of Hammad constitutes further evidence of the occupation’s policy of extrajudicial executions. The occupying state’s government is now seeking to formalize such executions through legislation, such as the law allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners. 

The PPS stresses that Israel continues its genocidal approach against the Palestinian people without accountability or consequences, amid ongoing international complicity supporting these actions. The PPS renews its call to all the free peoples to raise Palestinian voices in order to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes and to end the policy of impunity that has formed the basis for the level of brutality practiced by the Israeli occupation system over many decades.
