🔴Israeli Occupation Turns Abduction & Torture of International Activists Into Policy & Global Message of Intimidation Against Solidarity with the Palestinian People

Ramallah, occupied Palestine – The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said in a statement on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation authorities have turned the abduction of the Sumoud and Freedom Flotilla solidarity activists, as well as international activists more generally, into a systematic policy, as part of their efforts to silence voices expressing solidarity with and support for Palestine, and to send an intimidating message to the world that anyone considering solidarity with the Palestinian people will face detention, abuse, arrest, and torture.

The PPS said that this behavior is an extension of an ongoing policy practiced by the occupation authorities against hundreds of international solidarity activists over the past period, and which is being renewed today through the siege and abduction of activists and their forced transfer to the port of Asdod.

The scenes of abuse, torture, and humiliation inflicted on the detained activists reflect part of the daily reality experienced by Palestinian and Arab political prisoners inside Israeli occupation prisons, with the participation of the so-called Minister of National Security, ‘Ben Gvir,’ have become one of the most prominent arenas of systematic genocide against our people, amid an unprecedented escalation in the organized crimes committed against political prisoners.

The PPS saluted the detained activists as free voices standing with Palestinian rights, and also paid tribute to everyone who stands with our people and their just cause. It called on the free people of the world to continue carrying their humanitarian and moral message, and to work seriously to stop the genocide, breaking the ongoing siege imposed on our people in Gaza, and ending the policy of starvation that the occupation uses as a weapon of war against civilians.

We call on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to pressure for the immediate release of the detained activists and to reveal their fate.

The systematic state of complicity with the occupation and the international paralysis entrenched by the policy of exception and immunity granted by the world to an occupying state that commits crimes around the clock and has, through continuous impunity, become a source for institutionalizing crime and colonial violence on a global level, must be stopped immediately.
