🔴 Palestinian Prisoner’s Society: Israeli Occupation Forces Arrest and Field-Interrogate Over 60 Palestinians in Qalandiya Refugee Camp... Military Operation Continues

🔴 Arrests and Field-Interrogations Accompanied by Assaults and Serious Violations Against Palestinians

Ramallah – August 6, 2026

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said on Thursday that Israeli occupation forces, during their ongoing assault on Qalandiya refugee camp since Wednesday at dawn, arrested and field-interrogated over 60 Palestinians, including children and women, according to local sources. The military operation continues, amid fears of an increase in the number of detainees and those held in the field.

The PPS added that the widespread arrests and field interrogations were accompanied by serious assaults and violations against citizens, including severe beatings, the use of restraints as a form of torture and abuse, threats and intimidation, forcing citizens to leave their homes and converting some of them into field interrogation centers, as well as acts of vandalism and destruction targeting citizens' homes and property.

The PPS stated that Palestinian refugee camps have been, and remain, a primary target of the occupation's policies. However, since the start of the genocide in Gaza, they have witnessed an unprecedented escalation in the level of targeting. This escalation occurred within the context of the most extensive aggression against the West Bank since the Al-Aqsa Intifada, accompanied by widespread destruction of infrastructure and policies of forced displacement and erasure targeting a number of camps, in the largest wave of displacement the West Bank has witnessed since 1967.

The PPS added that during these incursions, the occupation army carried out widespread arrests and field interrogations, in addition to extrajudicial killings. The number of those subjected to arrest or field interrogation in West Bank camps is estimated to be in the thousands. These operations targeted various segments of society, including women, children, the elderly, the wounded, and the sick, as part of a policy of collective punishment aimed at dismantling the social fabric of the camps and terrorizing their residents.

The PPS affirmed that the events unfolding in Qalandiya refugee camp today are not isolated incidents, but rather an extension of a series of large-scale incursions targeting Palestinian refugee camps and towns in the West Bank over the past three years. These incursions have been characterized by unprecedented levels of violence and destruction, and a surge in arbitrary arrests, field interrogations, and the accompanying grave human rights violations.

The PPS noted that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to carry out widespread arrest campaigns in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, in parallel with the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The number of arrests in the West Bank since the beginning of the genocide has exceeded 25,600, accompanied by widespread torture, systematic assaults, and extrajudicial killings targeting various segments of Palestinian society.

The PPS stressed that all the policies, procedures and crimes carried out by the occupation authorities and their various agencies, foremost among them mass arrests, field investigations, torture and field executions, represent a part of the comprehensive aggression launched by the occupation against the Palestinian people, and are directly linked to the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip. It emphasized that these policies are not new, but rather constitute a consistent colonial approach practiced by the occupation for decades. However, what followed the start of the genocide is the unprecedented escalation in the scope, intensity and level of violence of these crimes, reflecting the occupation’s transition to more dangerous stages in targeting the Palestinian people and their existence.
