🔴Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS): IOF Carry Out At Least 45 Arrests Across West Bank Overnight; Five Women & Two Journalists Among Them
🔴Journalist Rearrested Just Two Weeks After His Release

November 4, 2026

Ramallah, occupied Palestine – The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said that Israeli occupation forces carried out mass arbitrary arrests across several governorates in the West Bank, detaining at least 45 Palestinians, including five women and two journalists. One of the journalists, Hazem Nasser, was rearrested by the Israeli occupation forces just two weeks after his release from Israeli prisons.

The arrests were concentrated in the governorates of Nablus and Hebron, while the remainder were distributed across Qalqilya, Tulkarem and Bethlehem. Israeli occupation forces also launched a campaign of often violent field interrogations in Jenin governorate against dozens of Palestinians before subsequently releasing them.

These arrests come amid an ongoing escalation of arrest campaigns across the West Bank, targeting all segments of Palestinian society as part of a systematic policy of persecution and pressure, the PPS explained.

The targeting of women and journalists through repeated arrests, alongside the rearrest of former prisoners shortly after their release, reflects the expanding scope of these pursuit campaigns and their continuation even after the individual’s release. The case of journalist Hazem Nasser is particularly illustrative in this regard, alongside the continued targeting of Palestinian journalists through arrests and persecution. This constitutes a direct attack on their journalistic work and their role in reporting events and documenting violations.

Field interrogation campaigns across Palestinian towns and cities involve violent home raids, prolonged detention and abuse, with many residents later released. These abuses, alongside the widespread use of “administrative detention”—imprisonment without charge or trial—and harsh interrogation and detention conditions, form part of a broader policy of persecution and collective punishment and revenge. Arrests are also accompanied by physical assaults, the deliberate destruction of property and the terrorisation of families.

Since the genocide in Gaza, the number of arrests by the IOF in the West Bank and Jerusalem has exceeded 26,000. This reflects an unprecedented expansion of arrest and targeting operations, as well as the continued use of arrest as a central, historic colonial tool for targeting Palestinian existence.
